2023 Gumbo Cook-Off & Mardi Gras Event

Join us on Saturday, February 18th from 12-3pm at Hi Wire Brewing in Charlotte! 

This is the perfect event where gumbo lovers and all of us who miss the boot during carnival season can celebrate all things Mardi Gras while enjoying the best gumbo in the Carolinas.

Tickets are $25 online and $30 day of / at the door. Your ticket comes with UNLIMTED gumbo tastings and a lot of Mardi Gras Mambo.

If you fancy yourself a gumbo connoisseur, bring your best batch and battle to be voted as the best gumbo in town, with prizes and bragging rights on the line. Gumbo cookers will receive two complimentary tickets to the event (one for themselves and another for a guest).

If you choose to enter the cookoff, you will need to:

• • Arrive 30 minutes early to the venue to prepare

• • Supply at least 10 quarts of gumbo, your own serving utensils and a team name

• • LSU Carolinas supplies tasting bowls, spoons, napkins, catering pan, sterno and rice
